Relevant Work Experience
1975-1981 US Navy, Boiler Technician 3rd Class serving 3 years aboard the USS Independence, CV-62 in both 3 Main Machinery Room and the Oil/Water Lab.
1981-1985- Various jobs through recessionary period. Included Tire sales and service, swimming pool service, and digging ditches or cleaning sewers take your pick.
1985-1997-Biomass-One L.P. Power Plant Control Room Operator. Operate and maintain 2 175,000 lb per hour 700 psi boilers and operate 2 condensing steam turbines with a total output of 27 Megawatts.
1997-Present-University of Oregon, Campus Operations, Central Power Station. I am currently the Lead Cogeneration Engineer. We have the largest chilled water facility in the State and we have a 8 MW Gas Turbine Generator, 600 psi superheated Heat Recovery Steam Generator, a 3 MW Steam Turbine . We also have 2-150 psi saturated steam boilers.
Leadership and Representation Experience
2002-Present,Vice President/co-owner-Asia Sun Inc. an Oregon Company: We specialize in the distribution of reflective materials to manufactures in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
2007-Present, Co-Owner PostNet OR 109 Franchise. We offer support services to small businesses such as copying and printing, access to publishing software and shipping services.
2007-Present, UO Central Power Station Lead-Operator Position.
2011-Present, Assistant District Director for the SEIU 503 Oregon University System
2011-Present, President of SEIU 503, Sub Local 085 at the University of Oregon1997-Present, Union Steward including Chief Steward for 5 years. Received the “Hammer of the Working Class” award in 2011. The highest honour a Steward can achieve.
